    Hey guys- just to clarify, there is no new APFT. The same ol’ APFT for run, push-ups, sit-ups is still in effect. Dr. Brager was speaking about the OPAT, which is more of a screen to determine what MOS’s a Soldier is eligible for. Combat MOS’s like infantryman require better scores on the deadlift/ball toss/etc than something like a supply tech or finance guy. Part of the impetus is to make sure that those who enter the combat MOS’s are fit for the task- especially now that females are allowed to pursue a career in the infantry, etc.
